A Glastonbury Romance - John Cowper Powys

On p904, the author of this immense, and immensely rich, novel refers to it as "this modest chronicle"!

By now, I can only say I have come to fully agree with Margaret Drabble, who in 1999 chose A Glastonbury Romance as her "Book of the Century" and said of it and of Powys: "A genius – a fearless writer who writes with reckless passion of flowers and graveyards, incest and teacups, property and religion and the occult. Everything is here, in this astonishing work."
