Still Life with Murder

Still Life With Murder (Nell Sweeney Mysteries, Book 1) - P.B. Ryan

I find it impossible to write a proper review of Patricia Ryan's Still Life with Murder, except to say that it is one of the best – and best written – historical crime novels I have ever come across (it is set, perfectly, in Boston in the 1860s) and has a heroine, the Irish Nell Sweeney, whose life and adventures I could go on reading for ever. And it looks as if I will be doing just that for some time to come because this story is the first of six. (The taster for the second book which hooks the unsuspecting reader at the end of the Kindle edition of the first book is sublimely written and totally irresistible. Hooked indeed!)
